Outline
This model is designed to develop the training skills in pneumothorax puncture, pneumothorax chest tube, hydrothorax puncture, and closed drainage nursing techniques.
Skills Gained
· Needle decompression
· Hydrothorax puncture
· Thoracic closed drainage & nursing skills
· Chest tube
Features
· Anatomy:
1) Bony landmarks include ribs, intercostal space, sternal angle, etc. easy for users to locate puncture position
2) Representation of an adult male torso, up to the neck and lower to the abdomen
· Key Features:
1) Needle thoracotomy possible in the left 2nd intercostal space in the midclavicular line; a “pop” is felt as the needle enters the thoracic cavity and a “hiss” of air release
2) Pneumothorax incision, suturing and chest tube placement after blunt dissection can be done in the right 2nd intercostal space in the midclavicular line; closed drainage can be simulated and the bubbles in the drainage bottle can change with respiration
3) There is a preset drainage tube in the 7th intercostal area of the left midaxillary line for closed drainage demonstration; the height of the liquid level in the drainage bottle can rise and fall with respiration
4) Hydrothorax puncture can be performed at the right 6th and 7th intercostal spaces of the midaxillary line and at the right 7th and 8th intercostal spaces of the posterior axillary line; there is a sense of breakthrough with successful puncture and simulated pleural effusion can be extracted
5) Durable puncture module can withstand at least 400 consecutive punctures (third-party test report can be provided)
6) Built-in 1L reservoir for repeated use and quick fluid refill
7) The left pad of the model accepts real needle to perform pneumothorax puncture.
8) Built-in battery for 2-hour continuous use after a full charge
9) Affordable replaceable pads
